  Band info
Formed in mid 2005, the The Bleak contains Simon Davies, aged 18 on bass and vocals, Rob Lane aged 19 on guitar and Danny Sankarsingh, 18 on drums. They have a simple mission, to play their own music, and special interpretations of other artists’ music to as many people as possible, to entertain these people and to have lots of fun doing it.

The bands music, written by Rob Lane and Simon Davies, is fresh and diverse, whilst still reflecting their varied influences.

In the few months since they formed in July 2005 the band have played all over Birmingham, in venues including the Carling Bar Academy, The Actress and Bishop, The Flapper and Firkin as well as moving out across the midlands. These experiences have helped them to build upon a very natural stage presence, sometimes gentle and moving, sometimes funny, often powerfull, always highly entertaining

Diary

IF YOU HAVE SEEN US, PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE TELLING US WHAT YOU THOUGHT! THANKS

The chestnut tree, Sheldon, 23rd December. Thanks to everyone who was there, great atmosphere. and thanks to everyone who has seen and enjoyed us in 2005!

the flapper and firkin, Birmingham, 22nd December. The band were on top form, holding a large audience captive for a loud 40 minute set. si broke a bass string, so Rob and Danny jammed while he cheekily borrowed another man's bass! even this got an applause!

rothwells, Wolverhampton supporting doza, 21st December. with two 40 minute sets, the bleak jammed in new songs and covers of many fun and hardly played things. a great time was had by all. a special mention to top covers band doza, and rob's uni mate Reese. rock on.

the chest nut tree, Sheldon, 8th December

scruffy murphys, Birmingham, December 6th. the bleak held the audience captive for their 45 minute set, punching up support for the ocs competition.

The Chestnut tree, sheldon, 17th November. Thanks to everyone who was there, you guys rock!

October 27th, flapper and firkin different set of people there on the whole, you guys also rock!

at rothewells on October 26th headline band doza were unable to appear, so the bleak rapidly assembled a two hour set. it went really well, and the gig was enjoyed by both the audience and the band as the 3 piece jammed through numbers they have hardly played together and performed 2 encores!

We went to Manchester. We played to a small but perfectly drunk audience. It was enjoyed by all (once we were allowed to start) and we sold a cd. however, an offensive mock brummie accent was directed towards us at one point, but it didnt affect us. too much.

AS many of you faithful know, we played The Actress and Bishop, it was a great gig and it was smashing to see you all there, hope you enjoyed it!

The Bleak played Bar Academy for the first time on the 8th of September, and went down a treat with the large audience.
